Back on the Road – 42.59 km Morning Ride

After almost a month off the bike, today’s early morning ride felt like a fresh start. Getting back on the saddle reminded me of the peace and clarity that cycling brings — it’s not just exercise, it’s therapy on two wheels.

This morning, I covered 42.59 km from Doha to Lusail Marina and back. The cool breeze, quiet streets, and sunrise made every kilometer worth it.

I started preparing at 2:30 a.m. to begin the ride exactly by 3:00 a.m., aiming to return before 6:30 for my 7:00 a.m. work. It was still before sunrise — the city calm and the roads empty. The first few kilometers were a bit slow as my legs adjusted after the break, but once the rhythm kicked in, it felt great to be rolling again. It’s really hard to do, but with self-discipline and a clear goal in mind, the effort becomes worth it.

The sky slowly shifted from deep blue to gold as I approached Lusail. That quiet moment, seeing the first light over the marina, made the entire 42.59 km ride more meaningful — a reminder that consistency and small restarts always matter.

Evening Ride to Lusail Marina on My MTB Trek X-Caliber 9

A few weeks ago, I took my MTB Trek X-Caliber 9 out for an evening ride from Doha to Lusail Marina. Even though it was just a short ride, it was one of those perfect moments where the city, the breeze, and the sunset came together beautifully.

Cycling is my way to unwind after work, clear my mind, and enjoy Qatar’s roads from a different perspective — one pedal at a time.

I started my ride in Doha as the evening approached. The city was gradually quieting down, and the traffic was lighter than usual — perfect for a smooth ride.

Pedaling towards Lusail, I followed the coastal road, feeling the cool evening air and watching the skyline change as the sun began to set. The route offered a mix of urban streets and open stretches along the waterfront, which made the ride refreshing and peaceful.

Highlights Along the Way

  • Scenic Views: The sunset over the water was simply stunning — a reminder that even short rides can bring big moments.

  • Cycling Experience: Riding my Trek X-Caliber 9 made the journey effortless and fun, especially on the smooth evening streets.

  • Relaxing Stop: At Lusail Marina, I paused for a few minutes to enjoy the view, take some photos, and just soak in the calm.

Even though this ride was just during my free time after work, it reminded me that small adventures are sometimes the most rewarding. Cycling through familiar streets in a new light — literally and figuratively — made me appreciate Qatar’s beauty in a way I hadn’t noticed before.

It’s these simple rides that inspire me to keep exploring and sharing my journeys, one ride at a time.
